‘Swapna’ reaches 300th episode
View(s):Sirasa TV’s ‘Swapna’ the mega teleserial telecast on Sirasa TV reached its 300th episode on Monday, September 15. Telecast daily on weekdays at 8 p.m., Swapna is a daily soap dubbed in Sinhala at the Sirasa Studios, for Sri Lankan TV audiences.
The Star Parivar Award winning Swapna, is the story of the young woman Swapna’s struggles, as she dreams of becoming a Police officer facing challenges of her confined rural middle class existence. The story is also about Suraj, who is a self-made man, running a successful business (sweet shop) in the area. Suraj and Swapna get married under difficult circumstances. The story depicts a husband in becoming his wife’s closest confidant and source of inspiration.
Ms Nedra Weerasinghe, Group Director, Electronic Media Business – The Capital Maharaja Organization Limited the holding company of Sirasa TV says, “Swapna is recreated by Sirasa TV’s well experienced dubbing team that has produced top products such as Mahagedara, Praveena, Soora Pappa, Ice Age and Scooby Doo. Our dubbing team is professional in their selection of voice artistes to match the outlook of the original characters. Moreover, their strength in translation to the Sinhala language, adds value to the original product”.

Formerly released in Hindi, ‘Swapna’ also has Tamil and Telugu versions. Later dubbing additions are in Malayalam, Bengali and Kannada. Apart from India and Sri Lanka, Swapna is also aired in Pakistan and Romania. Sirasa TV has also introduced two product extensions to this daily soap, which are Swapna Super, broadcast on Saturday at 12 noon and Swapna Mula Sita broadcast at 2.30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
