‘Thambara Sara’ staged with a great success
View(s):Holy Cross Collage , Kalutara achieved one of its biggest successes with the staging of ‘Thambara Sara’ Musical Evening which was held on 5th September 2014 at the collage hall graced by the Veteran film Directress Mr. Sumitra Peris as the chief guest.
Other popular and renowned musicians who took part in this concert include Sunil Edirisingha, Edward Jayakody, Charitha Priyadarshani Peris and Rohana Bogoda. Music was provided by the newly formed oriental orchestra comprising students of the College from year 6 to 10. Students of the Orchestra were trained by veteran violinist Mr. Nishantha Gurudeniya.
Guest artists who performed thanked and praised the students for providing quality music. and also stated that they were impressed by their talents with which they provided music to original tunes. The Concert was brought to the audience with a theme conceptualized by Rev, Dr. Camillus Fernando, the principal of the collage following seven months of hard work and training. ‘ Apart from the entertainment, the objective of this project was to introduce a few talented musicians to the Sri Lankan National Music arena’ said the organizers.
At this special occasion a few students of the school launched new books written by them.
