Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2014 at a glamorous awards ceremony held at the Musaeus College Auditorium on Friday. Sadeera becomes the second Josephian to win this coveted award since Rohan Weerakkody won it in 1987.

The first runner-up was allrounder from Prince of Wales’ College, Shanuka Dulaj, the first schoolboy batsman to reach 1000 runs during last season. Ramesh Mendis of Dharmasoka College became the second runner-up.

Year. For the second year running Richmond College Galle became the Best All-Island team while as last year Trinity College Kandy settled in as runners-up.

Top schoolboy cricketers, most of them members of the Sri Lanka Under-19 squad were recipients of awards. But the stars of the night were Sri Lanka Under-19s caps Sadeera, Ramesh Mendis, Binura Fernando and Priyamal Perera, who earned the top honours.

Royal College allrounder Randev Pathirana emerged the Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2014.

Anuradhapura Central was named as the Best Emerging Team while Devapathiraja Vidyalaya Rathgama were named as the Most Promising Team.
