Sarvodaya wins ‘Outstanding Social Entrepreneurship’ Award
View(s):The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship has awarded the 2014 Outstanding Social Entrepreneurship Award to Lanka Jathika Sarvodaya Shramadana Sangamaya (Inc.), its Founder Dr. A. T. Ariyaratne and the General Secretary Dr. Vinya Ariyaratne, at the World Economic Forum New Champions Annual Meeting in Tianjin, China.

Founded in 1998, the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship works at the regional and global level to highlight and advance leading models of sustainable social innovation to improve the state of the world. The Foundation works in collaboration with the World Economic Forum and operates under the legal supervision of the Swiss Federal Government. Each year the Foundation selects outstanding social entrepreneurs through a global “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” competition.
Dr. Vinya Ariyaratne, the General Secretary of Sarvodaya received the 2014 Outstanding Social Entrepreneurship Award from the Co-founder of Schwab Foundation / World Economic Forum Mrs. Hilde Schwab at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin, China.
