Students, parents protest against road across school playground
View(s):Students of Elwala Vidyalaya, Matale and their parents this week protested the use of their playground for a roadway.
They claimed that the land for the playground was donated by a philanthropist, but recently, a relative of his had started cutting a road, which would deprive the children of this school of a playground.
Matale Headquarters Inspector IP Vimal Shantha said that he would try to resolve the matter when he reports the facts to Courts. Pix by Mahesh Keerthiratna.
