Bioactive Metabolites workshop at IFS
View(s):A ‘National Workshop on Investigating Bioactive Metabolites from Natural Sources: Enzyme inhibitory studies, NMR and LC-MS interpretation” will be held during October 13 – 17, at the Institute of Fundamental Studies (IFS), Hantana Road, Kandy. The keynote speaker and Chief Guest at the inaugural session will be Prof. Atta-Ur-Rahman, FRS, UNESCO Science Laureate, an internationally reputed scientist who was the former Federal Minister for Science and Technology of Pakistan, who was instrumental in transforming the Science, Technology and Higher Education sectors of Pakistan through strategic investment in scientific infrastructure and human resources.
The workshop sessions will be conducted by three scientists of international repute, Prof. Y. Fujimoto (Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan), Prof. N. Kuhnert (Jacobs University, Bremen, Germany) and Dr. Ajmal Khan (University of Karachi, Pakistan). The workshop is organised by the Natural Products Research Group at the IFS, Kandy. The Institute of Fundamental Studies is the premier national research institute mandated to carry out fundamental and advanced research at the highest level in different areas of sciences.
