The 10th death anniversary of Gamini Fonseka, the uncrowned king of Sri Lankan cinema was commemorated on September 27 at the BMICH with the participation of a large number of artistes and film personalities.
Award winning filmmaker Sumitra Peiris was the guest of honour while Minister Basil Rajapaksa was the Chief guest. The event was organised by the Gamini Fonseka Foundation in which Dammith Fonseka is the chairman and Malani Fonseka, Ravindra Randeniya, Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne, Sunil Fonseka, Prasad Gunawardena and Jayantha Dharmadasa are the Trustees.
Founder are patrons of the Foundation are Dr. Lester James Peiris and late Sir Arthur C. Clarke and late Mrs. Sumitra Fonseka.
