Six ‘Arlimentarians’ show their talent in Arsikland!
View(s):The honorable members of ‘Arliment’ were in fine form when His Excellency Chaminda Pusswedilla and his cronies returned to stage for a one-off show ‘Ars Idle’ at the Waters Edge last month. The event organised by the Thomian Society of Colombo was billed as dinner theatre, and delivered on both accounts to a packed audience at the Grand Ballroom.
This time around it was time for a reality check, as six ‘Arlimentarians’ competed on a live talent show for the chance to head the prestigious Ministry of Hiring Education. Compered by the slowly-driven-to-madness Robert Western Thinking, and judged by Pusswedilla himself along with faithful aide Cyril Nitharamasuffering and Wickrama Nikamsinghe, Ars Idle had the audience in stitches from start to finish, right up until the point when Manjula Pusswedilla managed to grab the much coveted title (if the passionate warbling on stage was anything to go by!) despite being conspicuously absent for the entirety of the show. All’s well that ends well in Arsikland!
