Cambridge Schools International Conference in Colombo in December
View(s):Cambridge teachers from across the world are meeting in Sri Lanka on December 3-5 at the Northshore College of Business and Technology, Colombo for the annual Cambridge Schools (international) Conference.
The theme of the meeting is “Inspiring teaching, inspiring learning.” It will explore the methodologies and best practices to promote inspiring classroom practice, the UK-based body said on Thursday.
Cambridge International Examinations is the world’s largest provider of international education programmes and qualifications for 5-19 year olds. Its qualifications are taken in over 160 countries and recognised by universities, education providers and employers across the world.
The conference will provide a platform for discussion and debate on topics affecting the teaching environment, from teaching methods for lifetime learning to developing the balance between understanding and qualifications preparationsin teaching.

Leading educationists including Professor Guy Claxton, Visiting Professor of Education at King s College, London and Professor Norbert Pachler, Professor of Education and Pro-Director (Teaching, Quality and Learning Innovation) at the Institute of Education, London will explore topics including creating independent lifelong learners and the value of research for teaching.
In addition to the conference keynotes, participants will be able to attend subject workshops that will focus on a variety of topics including: Language and Literature; Mathematics; Sciences; Humanities; Primary and The Arts.”
