Dell says it is ‘No. 1 PC vendor’ in SL
View(s):The local office of computer giant Dell recently announced that it has captured 38.5 per cent of overall share in Sri Lanka’s PC market, further saying that this figure signals that it is the “No.1 PC vendor in the country”.
Further attributing this claim to the “latest report disseminated by the International Data Corporation (IDC)”, the computer company also noted that it had held the top market share position locally for seven consecutive quarters to date. The latest report was also identified as the “IDC’s 2Q Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker”.
Additionally, according to Dell Sri Lanka Country Manager Lackshmindra Fernando; “We have expanded our reach and are now available in all parts of the island through our partners. We are seeing a growing demand for our enterprise products in the country at present. It is encouraging to know that Sri Lankan customers are looking to Dell for their enterprise needs such as servers, storage, networks, data security in addition to their regular PC requirements. We have a host of high quality enterprise solutions for varying segments and are excited to engage with our customers and show them how they can be successful and secure in a world being transformed by the forces of cloud, big data and mobility”.
The announcement also indicated that “(over) the past years Dell has successfully evolved from a PC manufacturer to an end-to-end IT solutions provider with its current portfolio consisting of desktop PCs, notebook PCs, mobile devices as well as the existing suite of enterprise class solutions in storage, servers, networking and IT management solutions”.
