The lead juror at this festival, Bart Gavigan, Hollywood Script Doctor remarked ‘Thanha Rathi Ranga’ is a little jewel.
A powerful story, character driven, executed by a filmmaker with a true grasp of cinema. The creative team was not afraid to risk a slow-burning dramatic arc, leavened with injections of jeopardy. It’s theme about the huge impact of our apparently small selfish decisions, or those possible roads to real happiness that are ignored or not taken, is a mighty one, reminiscent of early Fellini films like I VITELLONI and LA STRADA’.
Earlier this year “Thanha Rathi Ranga” won the Best Film Award at the ‘Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Festival’ in India. The film was also nominated for Best Film at the 2014 Long Beach Indie International Film Festival in the US and competed for the NETPAC award at the 2014 Bengaluru International Film Festival, India.
