View(s):A workshop on Conveyancing and Secretarial Practice arranged by the Notarial Practice Committee of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka will be held on October 18 from 9 a.m to 1 p.m at the Dr. H.W. Jayawardene, QC Auditorium – BASL
The panel of speakers are-:
Nihal Peiris, Attorney-at-Law on Conveyancing, Registrar General; a Representative from the Finance Minstry / Jeff Alagaratnam PC to speak on the Bill titled Land (Restrictions on Alienation) Act; Chairman of the Tea, Rubber and Coconut Estates (Control of Fragmentation) Board, an Officer from the Central Bank on repatriation of funds on sale of immovable property by non citizens; an Officer from the Frauds Bureau on incidents of fraudulent land transactions; a Representative from the Secured Transactions Registry in the Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka on the Secured Transactions Act No. 49 of 2009 and Simon Senaratna, Attorney-at-Law, on incorporation of a company and duties of a company secretary
The BASL invites all members engaged in conveyancing to attend this workshop.
As seating facilities are limited, registration will be on a first – come – first – served basis. Tickets priced at Rs. 500 could be purchased from the Bar Association office.
