Nuwantha, Dimuth slam massive tons

The Under 13 inter-school cricket matches which is in progress now has seen some scintillating batting and bowling performances from the young kids around the island. In the batting department there were two note worthy performances both coming from youngsters in the outstation schools.
Nuwantha Madushan of Gurukula MV Kelaniya and Dimuth Sandaruwan of Karandeniya Central made two marathon knocks with Nuwantha cracking an unbeaten 154 and Dimuth making a 156 helping their sides to record comfortable first inning wins against President’s Rajagiriya and Madampa MMV.
There were two other centuries scored from the matches that were completed up to now which came from Shenal de Morais (116) of De Mazenod against St. Anthony’s Wattala and Niduk Malsith (114 n.o.) of St. Aloysius Galle against Meepawala Amarasuriya MMV.
Two bowlers Deelaka Dammith of Kalutara MV and Senath Randila of Mahanama Colombo returned the best bowling figures of 6 for 27 and 6 for 33 against Gamini MMV Bentota and Ananda respectively.
De Mazenod, Kalutara MV, St. Aloysius Galle, Ananda ‘B’, Bandaranayake MMV Veyangoda and Royal Colombo ‘B’ were the other teams to secure first inning wins which they achieved against St. Anthony’s College Wattala, Gamini MMV Bentota, Meepawala Amarasooriya MMV, Mahanama Colombo ‘B’, Sri Sumangala Madhya Maha Vidyalaya Wariyapola and S. Thomas’ Prep.
