Dr. Ray Wijewardene honoured with stamp issue
View(s):A stamp and first day cover were issued in memory of scientist and inventor Ray Wijewardene at a special ceremony held on Friday following the opening of the Sahasak Nimavum 2014 exhibition. Deshamanya Vidyajothi Dr. Wijewardene was a visionary scientist whose contribution to the fields of agriculture and aviation in this country are unparalleled.
The stamp and first day cover were presented to Dr. Wijewardene’s daughter Anoma Wijewardene. Technology and Research Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka and members of the Ray Wijewardene Trust were present at the ceremony held at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre.
