Clifford Cup when they came out on top at the 87th Clifford Cup ABA Men’s and Women’s Boxing Meet which concluded at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.
The final days meeting saw the pugilists from the two champion teams securing five gold medals each while runners-up in the two categories Navy BC and MAS Unichela secured two goals each.
Apart from emerging champions the two teams produced the best boxers of the meet with M.M. Prabashwara of MAS Slimline in the men and Niranjala Senanayake of MAS Southern in the women category while P.G.E. Madushan o f Air Force BC in the men and S.V.P.R. Dilani of Navy BC were adjudged the best losers.
