Gindari; Udayakantha return with Bahubuthayo
View(s):Following the success of ‘Bahubuthayo’–a comedy movie that revolves around a she-devil in town-Udayakantha Warnasuriya has completed the second part of the film ‘Gindari’-Bahubuthayo 2 which is in the post-production stage.
In the first part ‘Bahubuthayo’ two journalists Bunty and Lanty who go to a remote village to do an investigative report on devils and black magic spend the night at a house of a ‘Kattadiya’ (Exorcist). The duo find a beautiful girl, Tikiri doing the household work and fall in love with her. But they did not know that she was a devil disguised as a girl and Kattadiya was getting her to do his work with a spell. However when the two journalists return home, Tikiri follows them and they come across many troubles. But finally they manage to get rid of her and send her back.
Bahubuthayo 2- Gindari starts with Tikiri coming to the city in search of the two journalists. She starts to live with them and do their work. But following a misleading news item relating to a minister which has been published, the minister comes to the house where Bunty and Lanty live and beats them. The minister who sees beautiful Tikiri is taken by force to work in his ministerial office. In the meantime pressured by the parents, Bunty gets married to a girl named Malkanthi. But they don’t match each other and start quarrelling very often. Finally Malkanthi leaves Bunty. At the same time Tikiri, the devil in disguise, who rejects the minister’s undue advances returns to the house where Bunty and Lanty live. This gives way to another series of problems. Will the journalist duo manage to get rid of the devil this time? Await the release of ‘Gindari’.
The film was shot in the location in and around Colombo and Anuradhapura. Paboda Sandeepani (Tikiri), Mahendra Perera ( Lanty), Rodny Warnakula (Bunty), Richard Manamudali who played in ‘Bahubuthayo’ return to play the same roles, Sriyantha Mendia, Lucky Dias, Lochana Imashi, Menike Attanayake join as newcomers to the cast.
