Hasitha’s 131 rescues Prince of Wales
A fighting knock of 131 in 166 balls inclusive of seven boundaries and ten towering sixes by Hasitha Lanka rescued Prince of Wales against S. Thomas’ on day two in the Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter played at Mt Lavinia.
The home team had to be satisfied with a first inning win.
A fine batting performance by opener Dineth Thimodya was the highlight of the match between St Peter’s and De Mazenod at Bambalapitiya which ended in a first inning win for the Peterites.

The match between Royal and Dharmaraja played at Reid Avenue ended in a first inning win for Royal. Royal in reply to the Rajans score of 197 went on to make a score of 203 for 8 declared.
Half tons by Thulina Dilshan and Victorio Roberto enabled St Benedict’s to register a first inning win over Anuradhapura Central in the match concluded at Kotahena yesterday.
No play was possible in the morning session and the match got off only at 2.30 p.m. St Benedict’s resuming on their overnight score of 98 for 1 made 185 for 7 declared in reply to their opponents’ score of 176.
Exchanges were even on day one in the match between St Sebastian’s and Nalanda played at Moratuwa. St Sebastian’s after being bowled out for a low score of 117 fought back to take five Nalanda wickets for 85 runs.
