Veteran cyclist Anthony Symons off to USA
View(s):Veteran cyclist Anthony Symons will leave for USA shortly to take part in the Staten Island, New York Cycle Race 2015.
Representing Paragon Peddlers Anthony was selected for the Rome Olympics in 1960 and in the same year he was selected as the Most Popular Cyclist.
He has represented Sri Lanka in many foreign tours in Oman, USA Masters St. George Cycling Classic in 1966 where he was placed sixth in 2001, Holland and Belgium.
He was also the National Coach at the SAARC Games held in Pakistan and Malaysia
He has been an active member in the cycling field from 1957 to date. He has the credit of taking part in the Tour De Lanka for 15 occasions and has also captained the Sri Lanka Army team.
Anthony is a member of the Staten Island Cycling Association in New York, USA.
