Lyceum Wattala holds sway at In’tl schools swimming meet

Lyceum International School, Wattala with 1111 points emerged champions at the 20th Inter International 
Schools Swimming Championship 2014/15 concluded at the Sugathadasa Stadium Swimming Pool Complex last week-end. Gateway Colombo (984), Lyceum Nugegoda (659) and Asian International (563) occupied second, third and fourth places respectively.
13 new meet records were established by the champs (8 individual and 5 relay) while 1st runner-up Gateway Colombo were able to set up ten individual records and Lyceum Nugegoda with two individual records and two records in the relays and the fourth placed Asian International had three individual records.
National Teenage swimming sensation Kimiko Raheem again proved her prowess by establishing three individual records for her school. The other swimmers to establish three records were Thinaya Jayawardene (Lyceum Panadura), Alwin Arulmaran (Gateway Colombo) and Araliya Gunasekera (Gateway Colombo).
Seniya Ariyananda and Hiruni De Zoysa from Gateway Colombo were adjudged Champions at the Boys and Girls over 16 Age Group while Kimiko Raheem (Asian International School) and Gavin Karunanayake (Gateway Colombo) crowned champions in the Girls and Boys under 16 Age Group respectively. -LR
