A Millennium IT-led education programme offering “new approaches in Customer Experience Management” locally has been launched in conjunction with the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), Ezy Infotech and Oracle, according to a statement.

Elaborating further, the statement also noted that the “introductory session focused on the current challenges faced by the marketing community with regard to customer experience management, and how proper alignment with IT solutions can help overcome these challenges. The event was patronised by Chief Executives, Chief Marketing Officers and other members of senior management from leading organisations across industries such as banking, telecommunications, media, FMCG and education. The event was held at 8 degrees, Cinnamon Lakeside”.

Additionally, the statement also indicated that the event included “several informative presentations by industry experts. Eminent marketer Dr. Rohantha Athukorala conducted an enthralling session on ‘working in a political economy in challenging times’. This session was followed by Atul Tuli, APAC Senior Sales Director – Sales, Social and Marketing Cloud Solutions, who delivered an equally insightful presentation on ‘Modern customer experience’. The evening touched on topics ranging from the extent to which the technological landscape has influenced human behaviour, the importance of capturing and analysing data in order to derive true value and the emergence of Near Field Communication technology and its practical applications. Chandita Samaranayeke, Sales Director – Application Business, Oracle Sri Lanka and Maldives also made mention of Oracle’s Global commitment to enhance applications centred around Oracle’s Customer Experience Management”.

The statement also quoted Ezy InfoTech Head of Enterprise Amal Dias as commenting: “In a highly competitive environment, organisations strive to provide better service to their customers. This can be only achieved with a clear view of the customer’s profile, which includes behavioural patterns.

Many tools in analytics, process automation and business intelligence have surfaced as a result”. (JH)
