‘Down Memory Lane’: ‘With Feelings of Christmas’
View(s):Sri Lanka’s prime and most looked after Sing–Along Concert of Golden Oldies ‘Down Memory Lane’ will come alive on Sunday 7th December 2014 at the newly refurbished Ramadiya Hotel, Gorakana, Moratuwa (Formerly Ran Mal Holiday Resort) from 6.30 – 9.00 pm. ‘Down Memory Lane’, presented by Moratuwa Arts Forum for the first time With Feelings of Christmas during the forthcoming Merry Making / Festive Season.

Moratuwa Arts Forum (MAF) the dynamic organization should be commended for their untiring efforts to foster rare and unique values in quality programmes such as this ‘Down Memory Lane’ and this year with an innovation creating with feelings of Christmas. This year’s show will comprise the evergreens like ‘Old Folks at Home’, ‘Come Back Liza’, ‘Since I met You Baby’, ‘Bachelor Boy’ etc, Sinhala favourites like ‘Kimada Nawe’, ‘Kandula Ithin’, ‘Udarata Kandukara’, Katharagama’, ‘Mango Nanda’ etc., Christmas Favourites such as ‘White Christmas’, ‘I Saw Mama Kissing Santa Clause’, ‘Go Tell it on the Mountains’ and also a medley of Christmas Carrols.
There will also be songs from the 80’s & 90’s era included to please the younger folk. The project committee is headed by Brian Coorey, the bassist and the committee comprises of past Presidents, Lankika Perera, Laksiri Fernando, Lincoln de Silva, Incumbent Vice President Hiran Fernando, Project Secretary Pimal Fernando, Project Treasurer Suranga Fernando and Priya Peiris. Exco Members are President Hemaka Fernando, Secretary Mala Bhareti and Treasurer Ivan de Silva.
Super Pink N Purple led by the past President of MAF Lincoln de Silva will provide the musical backing for the Sing-a-Long. The Committee has made arrangements this year to have tables of 10 and if one pleases could make prior reservations of tables. As usual a colourful free song book will be given to every ticket holder at the gate’ said Brian.
As a value addition there will be a raffle draw and many prizes hence all are requested to fill in the details on the overleaf of the ticket in order to win a prize. Food Stalls will be a plenty on the floor. Tickets are priced at Rs. 750/- will be available at Multi Pharmacy- Rawatawatte, Milk House- Idama, Leonard’s and Fair Deals, Multi Pharmacy and Charmine Recording Studio 27/A, Mendis Avenue.
