Tuition classes for GCE O/L banned from December 3

The Examinations Department has announced that holding tuition classes, conducting seminars, distributing leaflets or model papers targeting the G.C.E.Ordinary Level Exam this year, will be prohibited from midnight of December 3 (Wednesday).

Examinations Commissioner General W.M.N.J Pushpakumara said this ban will last throughout the examination period.

The Ordinary Level Exam will be held between December 9 and December 18. The Commissioner General has also requested the public to complain to the nearest Police station with regard to holding of tuition classes or seminars after December 3.
He said legal action will be taken against institutions that are involved in violating this ban under the Examinations Act.
Mr. Pushpakumara said exam admission cards have been sent to school principals and to their resident addresses for private candidates.
The Exams Chief also cautioned students sitting the exams to avoid bringing calculators and/or correction fluids to the exam hall as they are prohibited. Mobile phones and other electronic equipment are also prohibited to both students and invigilators in the exam hall. (NF)
