Commercial Leasing bounce back with a good win
A valiant unbroken 100-runs partnership for the 8th wicket between Supeshala Jayatilleke (85 not out in 89 balls, inclusive of two sixes and eight fours) and Nuwan Karunaratne (36 not out) gave Commercial Leasing PLC a close 3-wicket win over Peoples Leasing & Finance PLC in the ongoing 4th Prestige Automobile (Pvt) Ltd, BMW-Hyundai Trophy, MCA ‘C’ division 50 Over League Tournament 2015, continued last weekend.
This first win was a huge relief for Commercial Leasing as both of their earlier fixtures against LBF ‘B’ and Softlogic were washed off without a ball being bowled.

For Peoples’ Leasing it was their first defeat after two wins on the trot; PL&F batted first and their batsmen continued to deliver the goods, as the top order came up with four half centuries via S. Mahanama (62), S. Sandaruwan (63), C. Wickramarachchi (50) and N. Dineth (51), to put up a challenging 266/8 in 50 overs;
Peoples’ Leasing had Commercial Leasing by the ropes at 170 for 7, still needing 97-runs to win; they lost their strangle hold due to the fighting partnership between Supeshala Jayatillake and Nuwan Karunaratne.
Airport & Aviation Services, too tasted their first defeat, after two successive wins, losing to Dialog Axiata ‘A’ by 33-runs in a low scoring game.
Dialog ‘A’ defended their paltry 112 runs in 35.2 overs, as their bowlers, Dilhara de Silva (7-2-9-4) and Janith Rupasena (5.4 -1-14-4) ripped through the strong Airport & Aviation batting machine, 79 all out in 19.4 overs
A sustained spell of bowling by Selwyn Jamion (4 for 54) and an attractive 60 not out by Charith Satharasinghe put Std. Chartered Bank on the right side of the ledger over Nations Trust Bank ‘A’ by six wickets; this was SCB’s first win, after one loss.
LB Finance ‘B’ pulled a thrilling two wickets win over Colombo Dockyard, their first win, after a no result; and Softlogic Holdings, posted their 1st win, beating Janashakthi Insurance ‘A’, after one loss and one no result.
The tournament will be continued this week-end, with a match card of three matches.
