Menaka marks 30 years as a music teacher
View(s):The Zonta Club 1 of Colombo presents ‘Celebrating 30’, featuring the Menaka Singers and Menaka Singers Opera Ensemble directed by Menaka De Fonseka Sahabandu at the Balmoral, Kingsbury Hotel on Sunday, January 4, at 7 p.m.
The concert which celebrates Menaka De Fonseka Sahabandu’s 30 years as a teacher of music, promises to be an evening to remember with a carefully chosen blend of music from well-known operas, Broadway musicals and Sri Lankan songs.
The soloists for the evening are Dhanushi Wijeyakulasuriya, Dmitri Gunatilaka, Gehan Cooray, Joanne Aloysius-Rajiah, Laknath Seneviratne, Jaliya Senanayake, Dulani Denipitiya and Samali Liyanage
All proceeds of this event will go to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children.
Tickets priced at Rs. 3,000 (inclusive of light refreshments) will be available at Vision House, Albert Edirisinghe Opticians, 52, Galle Road, Colombo 4.
