Dockyard beat the rain and Softlogic
For the fifth continuous week, since the tournament commenced on November 22, rain has not stopped its relentless harassment on the 4th Prestige Automobile/BMW-Hyundai Trophy, MCA Division ‘C’ 50-Over League Tournament, continued last weekend.
On Saturday, the match between Standard Chartered and JL Morison was abandoned without a ball being bowled, producing the sixth no-result of the tournament so far. The Dialog ‘A’ vs NTB ‘A’ and Janashakthi ‘A’ vs Commercial Leasing matches were played with curtailed overs.
Colombo Dockyard and LB Finance ‘B’ were fortunate enough to get a full day’s play with Dockyard sailing to a comfortable 99-run win over Softlogic Holdings and LBF ‘B’ managing a 27-run win over Peoples’ Leasing in a low scoring game.
Dialog Axiata ‘A’ and Commercial Leasing registered their second successive wins. Dialog ‘A’ scored anexciting 12-run win over NTB ‘A’ while Commercial Leasing secured a 5-wicket win over Janashakthi ‘A’.
The tournament will take a break for Christmas during this weekend and will get back on track in the New Year, January 3 and 4, 2015 with a card of four matches.
