French film screenings at AF Colombo

The French movie ‘Sans toit ni loi’ (Vagabond) directed by Christopher Frank, a mysterious tale about a death of a vagrant girl will be screened at 3 pm on January 6 and at 6.30 pm on January 7 at Alliance Francaise de Colombo. A young vagrant girl is found dead in cold: It is a usual happening in the winter. Was it a natural death? The police or the Sociologists question on it. What one could know about her and how those who had crossed her path would have responded? This is the subject of the film. The camera focuses on Mona, relating the last two months of her wandering. She drags herself. She puts up her tent near a garage or a cemetery. She keeps walking especially until she is exhausted of her strength.
2003 comedy film ‘Janis et John’ (Janis and John) a film about an insurance salesman who tries to get money from his hippie cousin by fulfilling his dream: arraigning for John Lennon and Janis Joplin’s “second coming”…. will be screened at 3.30 pm on January 13 and at 6.30 pm on January 14. The film is directed by Samuel Benchetrit.
