Foundation laid for Special Needs Education Centre
View(s):Laying of the foundation stone for a Special Needs Education Centre was held at the Weniwelkola Primary School in Kahathuduwa, under the auspices of Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena.
Once established, the Resource centre is expected to provide differently-abled children with a better education than can be provided in a normal setting.
The first stage of the Resource centre is estimated to cost Rs 6.3 million rupees, with the second stage estimated to cost Rs 25 million.
The centre will be equipped with Hostels for men and women, a ‘First Aid’ room, a Hydrotherapy Centre, a Playground, a Gymnasium and a Conference Hall.
