Saneera in pre-Olympic football squad
View(s):Saneera Vaas of Maris Stella College Negombo who achieved many feats in his career as a footballer got through the G.C.E. Advance Level 
examination with flying colours obtaining ‘A’ passes for all four subjects this year in the Commerce stream. Currently he represents the Negombo Youth SC as its goalkeeper and is actively engaged in football in the Dialog Champions League 2014 and the FA Cup.
He toured with Sri Lanka Youth Football Under-19 team, to Jordan and also with Sri Lanka Schools Under-19 team to Thailand. He was presented with a special award as an outstanding goalkeeper at this tournament.
Vaas captained the Maris Stella Under-13, 15, 17 and Under-19 football teams.
Under his captaincy Maris Stella College won three titles in 2013 namely the Sri Lanka Schools Under-19 Championship, the Schools Knockout Championship and the Schools Invitation Tournament.
Vaas who was in the National Under-19 Squad had a break for his studies and now will rejoin the national pool for Pre-Olympic Squad. He intends to play for the National Football team and looks forward for a career in Finance with a qualification of CIMA which he had already began to pursue.
