Multi-awarded theatrical direction of young playwright Thumidu Dodanthenna ‘Arundathi’, a story based in the backdrop of Indian caste system will go on the boards at 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm on February 1 at Namel Malani Punchi Theatre, Borella.
Jayanath Bandara, Gayani Gisanthika, Dharmapriya Dias and Hashinika Karaliyadda starring in the main cast, the play won 12 awards at the Youth Awards Festival in 1999 including the Best Script, Best Direction, Best Production, Best Actor and Actress and four awards at the State Drama Festival in 2000. Music is directed by Tharupathi Munasinghe and choreography is by Namal Jayasinghe.
