Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister
View(s):Mr. N.V.K.K.Weragoda who was appointed as the Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister has held many important positions in his 40 years in the 
public service. He is a post-graduate diploma holder in Development Studies from Cambridge University and holds a M.A. in Public Administration from Harvard University.
Mr. Weragoda served as the Government Agent of Hambantota and Matara Districts for six years. From 1982 to 1997 he held the post of Secretary in the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Research, Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ministry of Finance and Planning, Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Food. He served as the Secretary to the Cabinet of Ministers from 2001 to 2004. He was the General Secretary of the United National Party from 2004 to 2006.
