The airline said in a statement on Wednesday that the competition is open to all over 18 years of age Sri Lanka resident Facebook visitors at www.facebook.com/Emirates “All you have to do is answer a single question — ‘Which player in Sri Lanka’s squad or the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup has scored the most runs at World Cup matches’ — to go into a draw to win two return Economy Class tickets on Emirates to Melbourne, three nights hotel accommodation including breakfast on a twin-sharing basis at a five star hotel, and two Category A tickets for the ICC Cricket World Cup FINAL,” the airline said.
The competition closes at 23.59 hours [Dubai time] on Wednesday, 18th February and the winner will be drawn and notified the following day.
As part of the prize package the winner will also be provided a tour of the 100,000 capacity Melbourne Cricket Ground at Yarra Park, a photo opportunity with the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy, airport to hotel transfers, stadium transfers and a gift bag from Emirates.
“Emirates has over 47,000 Facebook fans in Sri Lanka but this competition is open to any Sri Lanka resident Facebook user over the age of 18, allowing even more people to take part,” said Chandana de Silva, Emirates Area Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives. “Emirates believes in connecting people with their passions through our global portfolio of sponsorships, and given the immense popularity of cricket in the country we wanted to give fans of the sport a chance to win this unique prize.”
From those who do not win the grand prize, Emirates will draw 10 others to receive exclusive Emirates ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 merchandise that will make a great souvenir of this much anticipated event.
The air tickets, hotel accommodation and match tickets offered as the grand prize are non-transferable and non-redeemable for cash. The winners will be required to obtain their visas for travel to Australia and pay applicable local and taxes in Sri Lanka and Australia.
