Bhagavad Gita: A manual for your life

View(s):

Living is an art, a skill, a technique that needs to be learnt and practised. The Bhagavad Gita presents the eternal principles of life and living which transcend race or religion. The principles equip one with a strong intellect to meet the challenges of the world and achieve success and peace in all aspects of one’s life – official, social and domestic.

Above all, they usher one towards the ultimate perfection, the goal of spiritual enlightenment.

Chapter XVI of the Bhagavad Gita presents the qualities and conduct of two distinct classes of human beings – the divine and the demoniac. The demoniac incessantly pursue their endless desires and suffer from agitation and sorrow whereas the divine conquer their ignorance-based desires and live in peace and happiness until they reach perfection.

Sunandaji, daughter disciple of Swami Parthasarathy will be delivering a series of lectures on the 16th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita on the topic ‘ Divine and Demoniac Nature’ from March 1-4 from 6.30 – 8 p.m. at the Buddhist Cultural Centre, Havelock Road – Thummulla junction, Colombo 5.
