Navy SC amass 467 for 9
Navy SC batsmen went on a leather hunt against Police SC in the morning session of play on day two in the Emerging Trophy cricket encounter at Welisara. Two valuable partnerships helped them to amass 467 for 9 declared after having resumed on their overnight score of 293 for 5.
Overnight pair Ashan Ranasinghe who made a top score of 96 and W. Sandamal (70) put on a valuable 127 runs stand for the sixth wicket which was followed by a 157 runs stand for the eighth wicket between Madura Madusanka and Dinushka Malan. They made knocks of 80 and 71 respectively.
Police SC in reply put in a poor batting performance as they were able to muster 161 with Yohan Soysa and Dilanka Auwardt doing the damage. Police SC made to follow on were 23 for 1.
