Number of votes received by the existing 20 contenders of the All-Island category of the 36th Bata-the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2015 contest has been relatively low for the past week, but Himesh Ranganath still remains as the leader of the list.
Despite the addition of five new entrants, Ranganath of Royal College Panadura still holds fort against close contender Randev Pathirana of Royal College Colombo by 43 votes. Pathirana moved a slot up to the second.

The new contenders to join in the contest are Lakshina Rodrigo and Sachin Delpethado, both of St. Peter’s College, Hansamal Perera of St. Sylvester’s College, Ananda College skipper Sammu Ashan and Nipuna Gamage of S. Thomas’ College.

After an empty week the Emerging Schools category got off this weekend with Nipun Malinga of Vidyaloka College Galle and Udith Dilsara of St. Peter’s College Negombo joining in. The International Schools category, however, still runs without any contenders.
