ikman.lk says ‘significant’ online job vacancy ads growth in 4Q14
View(s):Dominant Sri Lanka online classifieds site ikman.lk has revealed that an average of 235 job vacancy advertisements were posted to its website daily over the course of October 2014. Further, this number went up to 445 per day in November 2014, and 555 per day in December 2014, resulting in a significant overall increase in job vacancy ads posted to the website during the last quarter of the previous year.
Announced via a statement, this increase in online job vacancy ads was a result of corresponding increases in Internet and broadband penetration, opined the website. It also commented that, being a “convenient and hassle-free option, ikman.lk allows for more targeted advertising that reaches potential employees faster than any traditional media”.
The statement also went on to add that, “(over) the past few months, ikman.lk has witnessed the most popular job categories on the site to be, overseas jobs followed by IT and Telecom, Sales, Hotel and Hospitality, and Marketing and Advertising… The objective of most companies is to recruit the most suitable person within the shortest time span. ikman.lk provides the ideal platform to fulfill this need as it provides instant access to more than 2.5 million unique visitors to the site per month”.
Additionally, it was also noted that, “(unlike) other vacancy advertising sites, all advertisements posted on ikman.lk are free of cost and can be edited at any given time.
The unique advantage of this flexibility is that advertisers can make changes to an advertisement even during the nominated period, based on feedback received from applicants. This allows for fine-tuning job descriptions of ads posted attracting the most suitable individuals”.
