Ranganath continues lead for third consecutive week
Himesh Ranganath of Royal College Panadura continues to lead the All-Island category of the 36th Bata-the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2015 contest for the third consecutive week as the competition gathers momentum. Unlike last week Ranganath has expanded his lead to 99 votes from close contender Randev Pathirana of Royal College Colombo, who manages to hold the second spot for the second week in-a-row. Richmond College all-rounder Charith Asalanka holds his place at No.3 for the third week as Pathum Madushanka of St. Joseph’s College managed to dislodge Shehan Weerasinghe of Zahira College from the fourth place to fifth.
In the Emerging Schools category Nipun Malinga of Vidyaloka College Galle and Udith Dilsara of St. Peter’s College Negombo, who kicked off this segment last week, remain at their respective slots from last week. The International Schools category, however, still runs without any contenders.
Coupons of the 36th Bata-the Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2015 will appear on Wijeya Newspaper’s dailies, the Daily Mirror and Lankadeepa and also its weekend English issue, the Sunday Times and the Sinhala weekly Deshaya.
