‘Pem Yuwalaka Ona Kara Thibe’ (Wanted: An actual pair of lovers), latest stage play by Udayasiri Wickramaratne will be staged on Friday March 27 at 3.30 and 6.45 pm at Namel Malini Punchi theatre Borella. Playwright Wickramaratne’s earlier plays ‘Suddek Oba Amathai’ (A White Man Adresses You) and ‘Rangapem Ivarai’ (Adieu to Acting) were well received by the theatregoers in the country.
The theme of his latest play is how the world of love when portrayed on screen collides with love in the real world. Amiththa Weerasinghe, Hemantha Iriyagama, Wasantha Vitachchi, Thushari Gunarathna, Sudharshana Bandara, Theruni Ashangsa, Pradeep Aragama, Ishara Wickremasinghe. Chamari Nisansala, Rohitha Jayakody, Kusal Maduranga, Thilan Warnajith Wijesinghe, Niroshi Prasa and Seneviratne Rodrigo comprise the cast while Lalith Wickremaratne is the music director. Costume design was provided by Sweenitha Subasinghe while stage lighting is by Manjula Weerasinghe.
