Ceyoka Health, a subsidiary of Ceyoka (Pvt) Ltd, an arm of diversified conglomerate Nawaloka Holdings, has for the first time introduced advanced needle-free technology in Sri Lanka, revolutionising the future of vaccinations.
Needles have been the accepted standard for injections. However, for patients especially children the fear of needles is very real, associated with pain and discomfort resulting in declining routine vaccinations.

“As the exclusive distributor of Bioject’s commercial needle-free injection technology, Ceyoka Health offers Sri Lanka’s healthcare industry, a novel injection method that promises to be more efficient and pain free,” the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
Bioject’s technology works by forcing liquid medication at high speed through a tiny orifice held against the skin. This creates an ultra-fine stream of fluid that penetrates the skin, delivering medication in a fraction of a second. Bioject’s systems are designed to deliver injected medications comfortably, accurately, and quickly – without the use of a needle.

“Ceyoka Health is committed to improve patients’ lives with innovative new technology” said Emmanuel Murugaiah, Head of Surgical at Ceyoka Health (Pvt) Ltd. “Through our strategic partnerships with leading pharmaceutical and biotechnological companies, we now offer Sri Lankans inventive methods where the administration of medicine is more efficient and less painful. The needle free injection is now available at the Nawaloka Hospital and has helped to improve the comfort and safety of routine injections.”

The many advantages of using Bioject technology include the lack of pain, especially for children who have a strong aversion to physical discomfort and pain caused by needles. Needle-free injectors help children to have less anxiety and a reduced fear of vaccines.
