Charith steers Richmond to quarters
An unbeaten knock of 60 by Charith Asalanka and a 39 by Sithara Gimhan helped Richmond coast to a convincing nine wicket win over DSS in the pre-quarter final encounter of the Singer Under-19 Schools Twenty20 cricket tournament played at St. Peter’s ground in Bambalapitiya yesterday.
DSS winning the toss and electing to take first lease of the wicket was restricted to a score of 123 and Richmond in their run chase thanks to Asalanka raced to the target in the 15th over to advance to the semi finals.
