Easter a triumph of truth and justice: PM
View(s):Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in an Easter message has said the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is a triumph for truth and justice.
In a message, the Prime Minister said:
Jesus Christ, who transformed death to a supreme sacrifice of his life, is one of the greatest teachers born in this world. He, who committed to show the path of salvation to mankind was crucified for being a challenge to the religious and political systems that prevailed at that time.
Lent is a season of penance, reflection and fasting which remembers the Suffering and Death of Jesus Christ and prepares the Christians for Christ’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday. They commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Good Friday.We have many examples in the history of the world that truth, justice and fairness being defeated by the evil. Let us determine to secure the humanity without allowing cruelty on our journey towards a righteous and virtuous country.
