Amila Wasantha is 35-years-old, married with one child but cannot live a normal life owing to an acute disorder in his nervous system that has left him in a hopeless position. In 2001, a Doctor gave him just nine days to live but he has soldiered on.

Amila Wasantha with his son

Wasantha from Kumbukgahamulla-Welipanne in the Dumbalasooriya Police Division suffers from multiple sclerosis. Since being diagnosed with this illness at the age of 21 he cannot balance himself in an upright position.

His wife divorced him and left their home leaving their only son, a toddler at that time, in the care of a helpless father.

Ever since Wasantha’s mother has cared for him. His son is studying for his G.C.E. O/L examination at the local village school and determined to do well so that he could care for his father at a later date.

Wasantha is appealing to members of the public for whatever assistance possible to help with his child’s studies, financial or material support or a second or even third opinion from a medical expert.

He can be contacted on tel. number: 0724732530
