Grama Niladharis in Polonnaruwa organised a felicitation ceremony for President Maithripala Sirisena who was once a Grama Niladhari in the same district. He was presented with a statue of a ‘Gam Muladani’ (Village Headman) the precursor to the Grama Niladhari during colonial times.
