Golden Key probe getting nowhere despite promises
Why is the government taking so long and ignoring the plight of the Golden Key depositors? The previous regime did absolutely nothing to settle this long, outstanding issue.
Many depositors have committed suicide and many were put into financial embarrassment and even thrown to the streets.
It is a known fact that the Rajapaksa’s were benefited by (once powerful) Lalith Kotelawala, and as a result did nothing to settle this matter which has brought heartburn to many depositors, mainly senior citizens and retired persons.
At least the present regime should act fast to settle this episode which has taken many, many years.
Kotelawala is making merry and enjoying the best of everything having swindled so many desperate depositors. This man is having VIP status.
Why are the authorities not acting to bring down through Interpol, Sicille Kotelawala who is definitely a major partner to this massive fraud? We all know why. So many commissions were appointed and so many cases were framed but no results, just simply delaying tactics to fool the depositors. Just an eye wash!
It is time that Kotelawala is taken and put behind bars with his band of thieves, at least then we will see an end to this most serious fraud that has ever taken place in the history of finance companies in this island. Unfortunately what we see now is Kotelawala appearing on TV as if he is the innocent party. This is not only unjust but a mockery of the justice system of this country.
We hope at least Yahapalanaya will act fast to help the depositors who are desperate and in need of money to stay alive.
We the innocent depositors curse Lalith Kotelawala for what he has done to us. We hope God will answer our prayers.
