The fourth edition of the Red Bull Campus cricket will kick off with the preliminary round matches on May 9th 2015. Fourteen local campus teams will battle for the Red Bull Campus cricket championship and the winners will qualify to take part in the World Campus cricket Finals scheduled to be held in India on October 21, 2015.

Reigning national champs ICBT, ACBT, ANC, APIIT, Auston Institute of Management, BMS, CINEC, IIHE, IIT, RIC, SLIIT, VHEC, General Sir John Kotelawela Defence University and the University of Sri Jayewardenepura will compete to represent Sri Lanka at the World Finals. Two hundred universities across eight cricketing nations – Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka will battle for supremacy at the spectacular World Finals.

Brendon Kuruppu, RBCC Tournament Director and national cricket selector along with Sri Lanka cricket team vice-captain launched the tournament for 2015 with a unique “bowl-out’ draw at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium last week. The preliminary stages will be held between May 7 and 9 while the quarter-final will be held on September 5 and 6 and the semi-finals on September 12th ending with the National Finals on September 13th.

RBCC matches are played under the same regulations that govern the ICC T20 matches. This year Red Bull has added more twist and included two special clauses which is Super Sub and the Strategic Timeout allowing for more strategy and planning by the teams.
