59-year-old CIFL depositor praises Maithri
View(s):Drawing attention to the wonderful news last week in Business Times report, I wish to commend our (peoples) President Maithripala Sirisena for taking great interest to the plight we poor depositors are placed in.
Having worked strenuously for more than two decades abroad, on my return, without any suspicions I placed a fixed deposit in the above finance company. Now practically for the last two years and three months I am finding it extremely difficult to keep even the home fires burning with four dependents including two schooling children and a mother-in-law who is ill. My house too badly needs repairs. I’m deeply sorry for the desperate people who died in this chaos and I hope that the thieves would be punished and redress granted to desperate/depressed depositors.
