China’s Sichuan province tourism trade fair on gratis to Sri Lanka
View(s):Sri Lanka will be participating FOC (free of charge) at the Sichuan province World Tourism Fair in China, a media release issued by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) said.This has been offered as part of a goodwill gesture by the Chinese government for Sri Lanka Tourism in addition to providing free live coverage of the tourism fair on Leshan TV channel, SLTPB Chairman Rohantha Athukorala said.
He made this observation following a meeting with Vice Governor Sichuan Province Ms Huang Yanron and the Director General China National Tourism Administration Li Shihon on the sidelines of the Annual Conference of PATA 2015 staged at the picturesque Leshan, Sichuan Province,China.
Sichuan province has a population of 90 million people and two million of them travel overseas for leisure and business due to the economic development taking place in the region as a result of the expanding economy, the release stated.
The Government of Sichuan Province co-hosted the 2015 annual PATA conference and marketing the area for potential tourism, the media release said.
Air China already operates four flights a week and with the marketing thrusts we will make it a daily flight, said Mr. Athukorala.
