Double decker city tours heads to Kandy
View(s):Colombo City Tour, the double decker open roof buses that has been in operation for about five years now will be expanding its reach to Kandy commencing May, officials at the company stated.
Currently there are only two buses available and carry passengers from the city hotels to tours surrounding the capital and into Battaramulla as well.
In addition, it was noted that the city tour buses would now head to Kandy from May to carry out tours of the sacred city there. Officials said initially they would start the Kandy operation with only one bus on the weekends and would increase depending on the demand. Moreover, the bus tours have become popular among the locals with many now chartering tours for weddings, birthdays and other commercial and private events. With the growing demand and lack of any competition in this sector, though popular in most other countries, was expected to gradually pick up in due course, officials said.
