Soon after his appointment, Mr. Rajabdeen, a former President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka, said he planned to set up a regional industrial development office in Sri Lanka with the assistance of the ISSME.

He said most of the micro and small industries do not get the required support from any institution in the country and as a result most of these industries have fallen into the ‘sick industry” category.

ISSME was formed in 2010 aimed at developing and supporting MSMEs across the world.
