Perera, Vice President/Media Secretary of the National Athletics Association when contacted by the Sunday Times said the participation of a large number of athletes of national level is an indication of the keenness of the athletes to regain the lost glory in international athletics.
Selections will be made according to their performances and a special attention will be paid to the seven members selected by the Asian Athletics Association for Asian Grand Prix based on their last year’s performances. The AAA is expecting them to improve their performances at these trials. Selections will be made for the Women’s 400×4 relay event and Men’s 100×4 relay events.
