FORCED TO PAY RESPECT

The earth-quake that had a terrible toll on Nepal had a side effect on Sri Lanka too as a girls’ football team that went to the neighbouring country were temporarily stranded there until an air force flight brought them back. The team could have returned on April 21 but for some reason or the other they had been forced to stay back and had to return after the quake, giving their parents several anxious moments. Another setback awaited them at the airport as their lady chaperone had practically forced the players to pay respect to the official who had come to meet them.

FLAT TYRES

After a Big Match the coach of the winning team staged a big party to mark victory. However after the party the coach returned to his vehicle, which was parked outside, to find that all four wheels had been deflated! Insiders say that the coach had several ‘enemies’ who could have done this. The reason could have been that he had left out several players who should have been in the team and their parents could have let the air off the tyres.

WHY WAIT?

An official of a leading sports body had threatened colleagues that once his party takes over he will see that justice is done to them. It is strange that this official could make such utterances because two of his brothers are in the ruling party and he could have his say even at present.

NOT DONE SIR !

A former motor racing star lost all his races this time. “I lost the races willingly. I want to give the youngsters the chance to taste victory,” said the former champ to the press. Before the races this driver pitched his tent where he was not expected to do so, causing a lot of anxiety among the young drivers. Could this be the driver who wants to pay courtesy to up and coming drivers?

WHAT WILL
BE WILL BE

A key meeting is due to take place shortly involving the athletic types. All those who are vying for posts had been told to fill up some official forms. Whilst some had submitted outdated data on their forms there was one official who could not even fill up the form properly. Wonder what awaits them in the future.
